Oscar Hunter

August 17, 1943
Among the greatest actors of all time, Robert Deniro was born on August 17, 1943 in New York City to a family of artists. His mother, Virginia Admiral, was a renowned painter and her father, Robert Senior (son of an American and an Irish immigrants to the United States), as well as sculptor and poet was himself a talented painter. The actor's childhood seems to have been characterized by a deep loneliness, a feature which has perhaps drawn upon its ability to morph, when the script calls for it, dull characters from tortured soul. In addition, unbelievable but true, it seems that the younger De Niro was a hopelessly shy teenager, condition aggravated by a physicist not handsome but tenaciously he learned later shaping (and basti, as evidence of this, see certain sequences of "Taxi driver").
Discover the desire to film slowly and after attending the debts acting classes (including a period at the Actors Studio with the legendary Stella Adler and Lee Strasberg), collects evenings on stage off-Broadway. Calling the cinema arrives in years ' 60 with no less than three movies in sequence: "just married", "Hello America" and "Hi, Mom!", all directed by Brian De Palma. The true baptism of fire comes under the guidance of two giants like Francis Ford Coppola and Martin Scorsese. The first directing him in "the Godfather Part II" (1974), while for Scorsese will become a real actor-fetish. A look at the long history of titles shot by two can exemplify the concept: from "Mean Streets" (1972), "Taxi driver" (1976), "New York New York" (1977) and "raging bull" (1980), "Goodfellas" (1990), "Cape Fear? Cape fear "(1991) and" casino "(1995). Later will be directed, among others, by Bernardo Bertolucci (Novecento, 1976), Michael Cimino ("the Hunter", 1979) and Sergio Leone ("once upon a time in America", 1984). In his most intimate and also air movies filmography less spectacular, as "Awakenings" (1990), "Sleepers" (1996), "Cop land" (1997) or the poignant "Flewless" (1999).
Two of these interpretations the will as well as numerous nominations, Oscar winner: one as best supporting actor for "the Godfather Part II", and one as a lead actor for "raging bull." In 1989 he founded a film production company, TriBeCa Productions, and in 1993 he debuted as a Director with the film "Bronx". It is also owner of the restaurant Ago in West Hollywood and manages in two other companies, Nobu and Lyala, in New York. Despite the resounding reputation, which it did become cult figure in twentieth-century cinema, De Niro is very jealous of his privacy, with the consequence that he knows very little. Anti-star par excellence, is completely absent from the various parties or social events so appreciated by the majority of the actors. For sure we know that in 1976 he married the singer and actress Diahnne Abbott, with whom he has a son, Raphael. Having been separated in 1988 he had numerous relationships: the most talk of which was the one with Supermodel Naomi Campbell.
On June 17, 1997 he then secretly married Grace Hightower, a former stewardess with whom he had been engaged for the past two years. A curiosity: in 1998 during the filming in Paris for the film "Ronin", was being investigated by French police for alleged involvement in a prostitution ring. Acquitted of all charges returned the Légion d'honneur and has sworn to never put foot in France. According to a survey carried out in Britain from the television channel FilmFour De Niro is the best actor of all time. For 13,000 viewers who voted the chameleonic performer far exceeds all his famous colleagues like Al Pacino, Kevin Spacey and Jack Nicholson.
